Denise Martin-Harker - Ashtanga Yoga Teacher

|
Denise started practicing Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga to relieve the stress of corporate life. It certainly worked as it gave her the space and courage to leave her job and focus on studying and sharing the practice. Her inspiration and direction comes from her world-renowned teachers, John and Lucy Scott. For three years, she has had the privilege of working closely with John and Lucy as their apprentice/teaching assistant. This has provided a unique and amazing opportunity to deepen her understanding of the teaching techniques and the practice. She has taught all over the world with John and Lucy – India, Kenya, Singapore, Japan and extensively at their studio in Cornwall. In addition to this, Denise has passed John Scott’s two year Ashtanga teacher training and David Swenson’s Ashtanga foundation course and she has studied with Sri K Pattabhi Jois (the founder of Ashtanga) and Sharath (the Co-director) in Mysore, India, home of Ashtanga. Denise has a broad background in teaching and working with the body – she is also a qualified Pilates and Martial Arts Instructor.

Diane Coates- Sculptor

|
| A fascination with dynamic form and sensuous line is the foundation of Diane’s sculpture, as well as her interest in anatomical detail and movement. Specialising in clay modelling enables her to create subtle detail, capturing character, an essence of life and spirit, and sensual tactile form. Her sculptures are primarily figurative. Diane’s portfolio includes commissioned work of life-size bronze figures, bronze resin cast portraits and animal studies, alongside commercial corporate sculpture and her personal collection of female nudes.
As a member of the Surrey Sculpture Society, her work is exhibited throughout the Home Counties, and is in private collections in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Diane’s new collection of yoga sculptures is an expression of her passion for ashtanga and vinyasa flow yoga. She embarks on a yoga teacher training programme this year. Please contact Diane for further information or commissions at: www.dianecoates.co.uk

Rain Maher- Yoga Teacher

|
| |
Born in New Zealand, Rain grew up in Australia where she first experienced yoga. When she moved to Northern Ireland to live with her husband in 1998, she found her yoga helped her to feel settled in a new and, at times, strange environment. Rain teaches Hatha Yoga, and Vinyasa Flow Yoga.
Rain completed her first teacher training in Hatha Yoga in 2002 at Marie Quail's Yoga Therapy and Training Centre (YTTC). She has been studying and teaching ever since. Rain has attended workshops with such renowned teachers as Mira Mehta and Shiv Sharma.
She recently completed her Yogabuddies training with Jane-Louise Kelly and in the same year went to Thailand to complete her training in Vinyasa Flow Yoga with YogaWorks, one of America's most prestigious training schools.
“If you are fortunate enough to be taught yoga by Rain then ask her to sing to you and with you, and then really savour the icing on the cake from this beautiful teacher .”
- Jane-Louise Kelly Founder of Yogabuddies.
Rain teaches in Bangor and Belfast and further information about her and her classes can be found on her website at: www.shantishaktiyoga.com
